More About Me

Background

I have a passion for helping people grow and heal through creative expression, and I believe art is a powerful tool for gaining insight about your identity, struggles, strengths, and relationships. I believe art can be an effective tool to help self-regulate from overwhelming emotions or symptoms; and help to process and release stuck emotions, unhealthy patterns, and past traumas.

I work with clients wherever they are in their journey and whatever relationship they have with art making. I am not concerned about artistic talent, but rather in helping a client learn to use art as a practice for reflection and release. I am passionate about bringing a lens of holistic health and mindfulness to our sessions.

I believe your therapeutic journey is yours to create, and I empower your sense of advocacy in our work together. If our therapeutic relationship is a road trip – you are driving the car, and I’m sitting in the front seat with maps, ideas, music, and encouragement. I have suggestions and experience, but ultimately you get to decide where we go and how fast we get there. I’m honored to share this journey with you.

Lauren offers online and in person sessions at the St. Paul office. To learn more about what an art therapy appointment might be like click here.
