More About Me
Background
I am a Psychotherapist and School Counselor with my master’s degree in Community Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago and am currently building hours to become dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I believe offering encouragement, education and supportive guidance are all critical elements of the therapy process. I will create a warm and welcoming environment centered on affirming your needs.
I believe that people are created with the capacity to change, grow and heal. As a therapist, I am genuinely interested in my clients and work to develop a deep understanding of their worldview so I can encourage them to make the necessary changes for the betterment of their lives. My therapeutic approach is strengths-based and includes a combination of Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused- brief therapy.
I offer in-person sessions at the St. Paul office on Thursdays during the school year.
Specialties
I specialize and am passionate about working with children, youth and young people. You will find me to be an active listener and mindful therapist. As a school counselor with many years of experience, I am able to bring those skills from the classroom into the therapy room. I bring enthusiasm, laughter, play and art making into the therapeutic environment. I especially enjoy working with children starting at age 5 through college-age. Additional specialties include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Identity Journey
- Self-esteem and self-image
- Life changes and transitions
Personal Interests
When I am not at Invigorate, I enjoy spending time with my 3 kids and husband, reading, being outside, practicing yoga and chasing after our puppy, Charlie.
