More About Me
Background
I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and completed my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis on Family Psychology, from the University of St. Thomas.
I have worked with a variety of clients from ages 13 to 70 in the Twin Cities, practicing traditional talk therapy from a person-centered, strengths-based, and body centered approach. I also utilize art therapy techniques to guide creative expression and exploration. I believe that each person has within them the tools necessary to become the person that they wish to be in the world. In a session with me, we’ll spend time unearthing these tools and learning how to utilize them to facilitate healing and connection with yourself and others.
I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process between therapist and client that fosters genuine human connection, insight, and growth. Therapy is a journey. Together we will work to gain a better understanding of your past, your present, and your hopes for the future.
Specialties
I enjoy working with adults, adolescents, and couples facing life’s many challenges and searching for a greater self-understanding and healing. I have a special interest in working with college-aged and young women, as well as individuals navigating life transitions. If this is your first time to therapy, my gentle approach may be a good fit to ease you into the process of getting to know yourself and your hopes for your first therapeutic experience.
Some additional areas of interest include:
- Trauma/PTSD
- Self-exploration and Identity
- Relationship issues
- Life changes and transitions
- Premarital Counseling and Couples Counseling
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Self-Esteem and Self-Worth
- Sex and/or intimacy issues
- Body image
- LGBTQIA+
Personal Interests
When I am not at Invigorate, you can find me creating and making art, getting outside for hikes or paddle boarding, or snuggling up with my cats Maui and Mango.
