More About Me

Background

I completed my Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy and Art Therapy at Adler Graduate School in Minnesota in September of 2022.

In my work with clients, I recognize that each person is different and what they need in session may be different than the last, which is why I don’t have a set protocol. Incorporating art and breathing techniques often show up (although not always) in my sessions with you. I utilize art therapy and incorporate nature-based therapy along with traditional talk therapy to assist clients in exploring and processing barriers in their lives. I often find that how one makes decisions, what is considered in the process and what is not, often holds keys to the obstacles at hand. I work with couples and families, as well as relish my time with individuals. I am particularly interested in utilizing art making in therapy to process trauma, anxiety, depression, and explore family of origin.

I am a professional textile artist in the field of fashion at the same time as being a therapeutic arts psychotherapist. I co-own and operate a small design house out of NorthEast Minneapolis where I, along with my sister, focus on no waste fashion design. I am also a certified yoga instructor and have been teaching yoga for over 20 years.

Kaja offers online and in person sessions at the St. Paul office. To learn more about what an art therapy appointment might be like click here.
