Theressa Duren, MA, LAMFT
Theressa brings an authentic, compassionate, straightforward, and collaborative approach to her work with clients. She believes in the power of genuine connection as a strong motivator for change. Theressa believes it is crucial to provide a trusting and supportive environment, in which clients feel comfortable, cared for, and encouraged no matter the circumstances.
Theressa is a psychotherapist with her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and she enjoys working with clients from all walks of life. Theressa believes offering encouragement, education and supportive guidance are all critical elements of the therapy process. She has firsthand experience with how encouragement can facilitate change! Theressa possesses the ability to listen without judgment or blame, and creates a warm and welcoming environment centered on affirming the needs of the client.
Theressa specializes in working with couples and provides support for a range of martial stages from pre-marital counseling to navigating the process of divorce. Theressa has a strong ability to identify the core issues in couple relationships and enjoys the process of helping couples to move forward in a healthy and collaborative way.
Theressa also really enjoys working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, PTSD, ADHD, and anyone going through transition or simply needing additional resources and support.
Theressa feels privileged and honored to be allowed inside the lives of so many diverse individuals through her work as a therapist. She feels it is a distinct honor to help others navigate through difficult circumstances, relationships, emotions, and create authentic connections with all her clients. As a therapist, Theressa is genuinely interested in her clients and works to develop a deep understanding of their worldview so she can encourage them to make the necessary changes for the betterment of their lives.
When she is not at Invigorate Life Counseling, Theressa enjoys creative projects, reading, puzzles, watching true crime shows, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her family and friends.
