More About Me

Background

I have 18 years of experience in healing complex trauma with individuals and families. I look at issues and patterns through a trauma-informed lens and have a passion for utilizing therapies such as Havening Techniques®, EMDR, Anchored Relational Model, somatically informed practices, yoga movement, and the attachment theory. I draw on this experience to assist my clients and families with the trauma healing process.

In my search for more gentle tools to heal trauma, I discovered Havening.  Havening Touch has proven to be a powerful and effective tool to heal trauma in both clients and other mental health practitioners. The use of this tool has expanded how I practice therapy in a way that allows me to further support clients on their healing journey.  Learn more about Havening.

I also specialize in supporting athletes (youth sports-professional sports) who are working through the mental toughness piece of the game.  There is a performance protocol within Havening Touch that is proven to help calm the nervous system and release emotions from the brain. This tool can also be used on or off the field/court or in the moment, during an athletic event.  I provide after session exercises to increase preparedness for athletic performances.  As an (and former collegiate athlete) athlete myself, I am grateful for the opportunity to support today’s athletes as they develop these skills for positive growth and performance in and out of competition.

As the Clinical Leader and founder of Invigorate Life Counseling,  I have successfully mentored and developed many emerging therapists. Currently, I provide ongoing mentoring for new supervisors in the field to help them build a strong foundation for the Invigorate team.  I am a Minnesota Board Approved Supervisor for MFT, LPC, and LPCC licensure boards.
