INVIGORATE

YOUR HEALING

Invigorate Your Healing

Intensive deep trauma work to become the whole person you already are

What is Invigorate Your Healing?

This program developed by Melanie Vinton uses an intensive therapeutic approach that is specifically designed to help established clients recover from trauma and find a new path toward healing, integration & wholeness. It was developed over the past three years in collaboration with clients receiving EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Somatically Informed Practices, AIR Network and body movement with Melanie while continuing to work with their primary therapists. This non-traditional approach has been effective in allowing the brain to settle into its new neural pathways. Melanie has a deep passion for helping others heal from trauma and has designed this program specifically for these individuals.

How is the program structured?

Two separate cohorts of this program will be offered each year: September through December and February through May. It is a 16-week commitment consisting of two rounds of EMDR/Somatically Informed Practice, with a 2-week break/integration period following each round.

Each of the 2 rounds consists of 6-8 weeks of EMDR, Somatically Informed breathwork, and yoga practices. The rounds are followed by a 2-week break to give clients the opportunity to integrate what they’ve learned into their daily lives.

Sample Program:

Weeks 1-8:

EMDR/Somatically Informed Practices (Round 1) 8 Sessions (1x/wk)

Traditional Individual Therapy with Primary Therapist

Weeks 9-10:

Integration Break (2 weeks)

Weeks 11-16:

EMDR/Somatically Informed Practices (Round 2) 6 Sessions (1x/wk)

Is this program traditional EMDR?

This program is actually a modified approach of EMDR and Somatically Informed Practices that Melanie has found to be extremely effective. In her 10+ years of doing EMDR therapy, Melanie has found that intuitively integrating the body throughout the healing process has helped clients more effectively heal and recover from trauma. She utilizes practices from Dr. Arielle Schwartz, Janina Fisher, Ph.D., Laurel Parnell, Ph. D. and Laure Schwartz, MA LPC. which make body sensations the focal point of her sessions so Melanie can address what is showing up through a trauma lens. Melanie has found that letting go of language and noticing what’s happening in your body is key.

How do I know if I am a good fit for this program?

If you have unresolved trauma and are ready to commit to the hard work of healing it, this may be the program for you. It is a requirement that you are already working with an established therapist and have established the skills necessary to self-soothe when you are feeling dysregulated. In January and August of each year, Melanie will meet with potential participants on an individual basis to determine if they are a good fit for the program. She will assess using Somatically Informed practices and grounding practices. She will also collaborate with the primary therapist to ensure they are a good fit for the program before the first round starts. Melanie believes a key component is trusting the process and letting your body lead the way.

Can I do this program virtually or do I have to come into the office?

Melanie has found that in-person sessions are most effective.

Will my insurance cover this program?

Yes! Each individual session with Melanie is billed as a typical therapy session and the relational healing group is billed as group therapy. If you choose to not utilize insurance, we offer a cash or sliding fee rate. Please inquire with Melanie about this option.
