Internal Family Systems (IFS)
What is IFS?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative, evidence-based model of psychotherapy. IFS is based on the concept that the mind contains many inner parts that each have valuable qualities. In IFS all parts are welcome, and identifies that “core self” knows how to heal, allowing us to become integrated and whole.
How does IFS work?
IFS uses parts work and starts with identifying all of the parts of you as a person and inviting each of them to be present and acknowledged within a session. Each part contains talents and resources that can be activated at different times depending on your history and current environment. IFS can be utilized to address unresolved trauma, present day conflicts, as well as diving deep into personal self worth. To learn more details about the history of IFS and how it works, click here.
